Japanese Traditions: Futon Hoshi The relatives are coming for Obon Yasumi, or the (very hot) Summer Holiday in Japan that everyone gets this time of the year for a few days. We need to air out the bedding (futon) for them to sleep on. It is tradition. Here is how it's done.
